Education and Background
Mrs. Tracey-Ann George, BA, MSW, LCSW is an experienced professional with over sixteen years of varied and diverse experience in Social Work, Therapy, and Healthcare Administration. Her career began with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Tuskegee University in 2001. Post-graduation she gained valuable experience in child protection, fostering and adoption while working in London, England. In 2004, she further enhanced her professional skills by obtaining a master’s degree in Social Work, with a focus on Advanced Generalist Practice Programming from Columbia University in New York City.
Work Experience
During her time at Columbia she interned with an Assertive Community Treatment Team and became well-versed in treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In the fourteen years since her master’s Mrs. George’s career has become more focused and specialized in treating behavioral health conditions and promoting wellness. In 2013 she obtained her license as a Clinical Social Worker and increased her therapeutic skills through engagement in clinical practice in various inpatient and outpatient behavioral health treatment organizations throughout Connecticut. Of important note are her work as a Clinical Team Leader and Program Director in medication assisted treatment at Connecticut Counseling Centers; her work as a Clinician with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Yale University School of Medicine in the treatment of first episode psychosis; and her work with Yale-New Haven Hospital as a Clinical Social Worker in the emergency department.
